Een groot aantal figuren, waaronder hovelingen, soldaten en geestelijken zijn aanwezig op de achtergrond. Onderaan de voorstelling is een citaat uit ‘L’histoire des Francs’ van Gregorius van Tours opgenomen, dat aan Remigius van Reims wordt toegekend. Deze prent in neogotische stijl werd uitgegeven door de Société de Saint-Augustin, ook bekend als drukkerij Desclée De Brouwer.
