In het definitieve monument, dat vandaag bewaard wordt aan de École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, reikt de jonge vrouw — die de jeugd symboliseert — gebeeldhouwd in hoogreliëf door Chapu, een palmtak naar het bronzen borstbeeld van Regnault, gemaakt door Degeorge. In driedimensionale vorm uitgegeven door het huis Barbedienne, kende La Jeunesse een enorm succes. Van deze reductie in brons van het monument voor de kunstenaar Henri Regnault bewaart het Musée Carnavalet in Parijs een ontwerp in terracotta (inv. S3494). In de verzameling van het Musée d'Orsay is een andere geut in brons aanwezig (inv. ChB 211). Au salon de 1875, Chapu, qui fut élève de Duret et Pradier à l'École des Beaux Arts, présente un marbre intitulé La Jeunesse pour lequel il reçu une médaille d'or. Il s'agit de la partie allégorique d'un monument à la mémoire du peintre Henri Regnault et aux onze élèves de l'École, morts pour la Patrie. Dans le monument définitif aujourd'hui conservé à l'École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts, la jeune femme, symbolisant la jeunesse, sculptée en haut-relief par Chapu tend une palme vers le buste en bronze de Regnault sculpté par Degeorge. Éditée en trois dimensions par la maison Barbedienne, la Jeunesse remporta un immense succès.
