De prent maakt deel uit van een 53-delige serie prenten naar schilderijen van Titiaan en Veronese. Abraham lève son couteau pour tuer son fils Isaac, ligoté et agenouillé sur un tas de bois. Un ange l'en empêche en saisissant son couteau à temps. À gauche se trouve un âne, à droite un bélier. L'estampe fait partie d'une série de 53 estampes d'après des tableaux de Titien et de Véronèse.
