Onderaan staat de vermelding 1914-18. Op de keerzijde zie je dat de plaquette uit erkentelijkheid van de stad Gent aan Alice Keelhoff werd geschonken. Alice Keelhoff was een Belgische kunstenares geboren in Gent in 1896 en overleden in 1983. Ze was de achternicht van kunstenaar François Keelhoff en volgde een opleiding aan de Academie in Luik (onder Jacques Ochs), aan de Académie Julian en aan de Grande Chaumière in Parijs. Na haar debuut op 33-jarige leeftijd maakte ze in de Gentse regio naam als tekenaar en schilderes van portretten, figuren, naakten, interieurs, dieren, bloemen en stillevens. Ze hield van tegenlichteffecten en haar werken baadden in een intieme sfeer. Le revers indique que la plaque a été remise à Alice Keelhoff en remerciement de la ville de Gand. Alice Keelhoff était une artiste belge née à Gand en 1896 et morte en 1983. Cousine germaine de l'artiste François Keelhoff, elle a été formée à l'Académie de Liège (sous la direction de Jacques Ochs), à l'Académie Julian et à la Grande Chaumière à Paris. Après avoir fait ses débuts à l'âge de 33 ans, elle s'est fait un nom dans la région de Gand en tant que dessinatrice et peintre de portraits, de figures, de nus, d'intérieurs, d'animaux, de fleurs et de natures mortes. Elle aimait les effets de contre-jour et ses œuvres baignaient dans une atmosphère intime.
