Zij werd in 1850 geboren te Gosselies als Sylvie Aubry en overleed te Gent op 6 januari 1931. Zij was de stiefmoeder van de schilder Georges Buysse, die geboren was uit het eerste huwelijk van haar echtgenoot, en de tante van de schrijver Cyriel Buysse. Haar echtgenoot bestuurde samen met Alfred Baertsoen de grote textielfabriek Baertsoen & Buysse. Zij nam deel aan het Gentse culturele leven van die tijd en was bijzonder geïnteresseerd in de letteren en schone kunsten. Ce buste en marbre représente Mme Auguste Buysse. Elle est née à Gosselies sous le nom de Sylvie Aubry en 1850 et est décédée à Gand le 6 janvier 1931. Elle était la belle-mère du peintre Georges Buysse, né du premier mariage de son mari, et la tante de l'écrivain Cyriel Buysse. Avec Alfred Baertsoen, son mari dirigeait la grande usine textile Baertsoen&Buysse. Elle participe à la vie culturelle de Gand à cette époque et s'intéresse particulièrement à la littérature et aux beaux-arts. This marble bust represents Mrs Auguste Buysse. She was born in Gosselies as Sylvie Aubry in 1850 and died in Ghent on 6 January 1931. She was the stepmother of the painter Georges Buysse, who was born from the first marriage of her husband, and the aunt of the writer Cyriel Buysse. Together with Alfred Baertsoen, her husband managed the large textile factory Baertsoen & Buysse.
