Na de publicatie van Un prince du luminisme (1946), gewijd aan de schilder Emile Claus, werkt zij als journalist voor de krant La Flandre Libérale en schrijft ze mee aan thrillerverhalen. In diezelfde periode sluit beeldhouwer Madeleine Van Thorenburg haar eigen carrière af met een bronzen versie van de buste van Vlaemingh die ze aan het museum schenkt. De gipsen versie van deze buste maakt al sinds 1922 deel uit van de museumverzameling (inv. 1922-AA). En 1950, l’écrivaine Alice Vlaemingh (pseud. Alice Sauton) se trouve au sommet de sa carrière. Après la publication d’Un prince du luminisme (1946), un livre consacré au peintre Émile Claus, elle travaille comme journaliste pour le journal La Flandre libérale et elle participe à l’écriture de thrillers. Dans la même période, la sculptrice Madeleine Van Thorenburg clôt sa propre carrière en réalisant une version en bronze du buste de Vlaemingh, qu’elle offre au musée. La version en plâtre de ce buste fait partie de la collection du musée depuis 1922 (inv. 1922-AA). In 1950, writer Alice Vlaemingh (pseud. Alice Sauton) is at the height of her career.
