Vanaf 1916 gaat het vormprobleem hem echter zozeer bezighouden, dat hij de kleur gaat opgeven voor een meer constructivistische benadering. Hij bekommert zich meer en meer om de ordening van de ruimte, die hij in brede geometrische vlakken opbouwt. Daarin is hij verwant aan Jean Brusselmans. Hoewel hij niet tot de groep van de Vlaams expressionisten kan worden gerekend, krijgt Ramah wel toegang tot 'hun' galerijen in Brussel; zo exposeert hij herhaaldelijk in de galerie Le Centaure in Brussel. Avant la Première Guerre mondiale, Ramah, pseudonyme d'Henri Raemacker (1887-1947), fait partie du cercle des fauves brabançons autour de Rik Wouters. À partir de 1916, cependant, le problème de la forme le préoccupe tellement qu'il abandonne la couleur pour une approche plus constructiviste. Il est de plus en plus préoccupé par l'agencement de l'espace, qu'il construit en larges plans géométriques. À cet égard, il est apparenté à Jean Brusselmans.
