De Lattre is beter bekend onder zijn Latijnse naam Orlando Lassus (of Lasso). De kunstschilder Wauquier vervaardigde in 1841 een schilderij met de beeltenis van deze beroemde stadsgenoot uit Mons. Op 4 juni 1841 werd een loterij georganiseerd met het doek als prijs. Bij deze gelegenheid werd door A. Mathieu een gedicht geschreven over De Lattre, dat op de keerzijde van deze penning staat. Alle deelnemers van de loterij kregen deze medaille aangeboden. Sur cette médaille-portrait, on voit au recto le musicologue Roland De Lattre. De Lattre est mieux connu sous son nom latin, Orlando Lassus (ou Lasso). En 1841, le peintre Wauquier a réalisé un tableau représentant ce célèbre citoyen de Mons. Le 4 juin 1841, une loterie a été organisée avec cette toile comme prix. À cette occasion, A. Mathieu a écrit un poème sur De Lattre, qui figure au verso de cette médaille.
