De keerzijde van de penning werd ontworpen door Henri Dubois en was bestemd om de naam van de gehuldigde in te graveren. De Parijse munt gebruikte het ontwerp van Dubois voor nog twee andere penningen van Chaplain. Elk Frans brandweerkorps kon deze penning gebruiken voor diverse gelegenheden zoals pensioneringen of huldigingen van verdienstelijke personen. Conçue par Jules Clément Chaplain en hommage aux pompiers, cette médaille montre un pompier héroïque sauvant une femme et un enfant de la mort par le feu. Le revers de la médaille a été conçu par Henri Dubois et était destiné à graver le nom de la personne honorée. La Monnaie de Paris a utilisé le dessin de Dubois pour deux autres médailles d'aumônier.
