Deze vereniging werd opgericht in 1883 bij de viering van de honderdste verjaardag van de Revolutie. De oprichting vond plaats in Fraunces Tavern, op dezelfde plaats als de oorspronkelijke viering in 1783. Tallmadge kocht dit historische gebouw aan en schonk het aan de vereniging. Als dank werd hij vereeuwigd door de uitgifte van deze penning. Op de keerzijde wordt het gebouw afgebeeld. Brenner ontwierp de penning en stelde deze tentoon in Brussel op het Salon van de Medaille in 1910. Hetzelfde jaar werd hij ook getoond op de New York Medallic Exhibition. Frederick Samuel Tallmadge (1824-1904) a été président de l'Association des descendants des officiers de la Révolution américaine de 1783. Cette association a été fondée en 1883 pour célébrer le centenaire de la Révolution. La fondation a eu lieu à la Taverne de Fraunces, au même endroit que la célébration originale en 1783. Tallmadge a acheté ce bâtiment historique et en a fait don à la société. En remerciement, il a été immortalisé par l'émission de ce jeton. Le verso représente le bâtiment. Brenner a conçu la médaille et l'a exposée à Bruxelles au Salon de la médaille en 1910. La même année, elle a également été présentée à l'exposition de médailles de New York. Frederick Samuel Tallmadge (1824-1904) was president of the Association of Descendants of the Officers of the American Revolution of 1783. This association was founded in 1883 in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Revolution. The founding took place at Fraunces Tavern, at the same place as the original celebration in 1783.
