Deze moest op de voorzijde de beeltenis van de koning dragen en zeker de twee data 1830 en 1905. De keerzijde werd aan de inspiratie van de kunstenaar overgelaten. Tussen de veertien deelnemers werd bij unanimiteit Godried Devreese als winnaar aangewezen die het bedrag van 8.000 frank kreeg toegewezen. Op de keerzijde gaf hij een allegorische voorstelling weer van België in de vorm van een vrouw die de opgaande zon tegemoet stapt, vergezeld van een leeuw en omringd door een wapenschild en vlag. Au revers, il a représenté une allégorie de la Belgique sous la forme d'une femme marchant vers le soleil levant, accompagnée d'un lion et entourée d'un blason et d'un drapeau.
