Ongeveer 400 maatschappijen van allerlei aard namen deel aan de feestelijkheden die in en tijdens de tentoonstelling doorgingen. Deze penning, gegraveerd door Victor Lemaire, werd aan alle deelnemende verenigingen overhandigd. Op de voorzijde staat de Maagd van Gent en op de keerzijde een opschrift ter herinnering aan dit evenement. Environ 400 entreprises de toutes sortes ont participé aux festivités qui ont eu lieu dans et pendant l'exposition. Cette médaille, gravée par Victor Lemaire, a été remise à toutes les sociétés participantes. Sur l'avers figure la Vierge de Gand et sur le revers une inscription commémorant cet événement.
